Greatest Joys in Raising a Large Family
By Ana Huron
- I love hearing them sing together around the
piano.
- I love watching them play “Mexican Train”
and helping the youngest one learn to play.
- I love hearing laughter float down the hall
from a bedroom because brothers and sisters are talking about their day.
- I love watching them go to the dollar store
to buy birthday presents and excitedly hide them from the birthday person.
- I love it when we make shakes late on
Wednesday nights after church.
- I love taking up 3 pews at church.
- I love it when the children make a human
pyramid and fall down laughing.
- I love watching my twenty-one year old
cuddle the two year old.
- I love it when the 13 year old reads to her
brothers again and again and again….same book.
- I love going out on a date with my husband
and knowing that everyone at home will be fine.
- I love watching braces come off!
- I love the glow in the eye of my daughter
after she’s earned her driver’s license.
- I love it when people think my daughters are
my sisters!
- I love it when people count us.
- I love hearing instruments being practiced
all over the house.
- I love bunk beds.
- I love leftovers!
- I love it when the cashier asks if we’re
having a party and we’ve only just purchased regular groceries. We always
say, “Yes! We are having a party!”
- I love “buy-one-get-one-free”.
